Recognizing the importance of reliable renewable energy in the developing world, Potenco is initially focused on bringing power solutions to the 1.6 billion people living without electricity. Potenco is currently working with a global network of partners including MFI’s, handset, battery and lighting manufacturers to bring renewable, human-powered energy to developing countries and commercial markets worldwide.
Potenco is working across Central & South America, South Asia, and sub-Saharan Africa to deliver reliable human-based power. In the developing world, the need for lighting, mobile phone charging and water purification has never been greater.
Potenco has a partnership with One Laptop Per Child to power the children’s laptops using pull-cord generators (PCG). The PCGs will eventually help ensure that students can access their laptop anytime, anywhere.
